Outfit Guide
Hey there!
Booked a session with me and not sure what to wear or where to start? Lets go over some of the basics to help you feel and look good on the day of your shoot!
Why your outfit choice is important
In my experience, I have come to realize that your outfit choice is arguably the most important aspect of your photos. Clients will often times send me "inso" pictures for their upcoming shoot, and then show up in colors and styles that are completely different than the photos they felt so inspired by. They don't realize how big of an impact those outfit choices have on their attraction to the photo! Here are some simple suggestions when it comes to deciding what to wear in your photos!
What to Wear
There are 3 key components to a good outfit
-
Comfort
I want you to wear something that is comfortable, AND something that feels like YOU. This is when you will feel the most confident. The last thing I want is you feeling uncomfortable sitting because your jeans are too tight, or rushed because you can't wait to change into something more comfortable. Comfort has so much to do with your mood, and you want to be in a good mood while shooting, it should be fun!!
-
Color
I don't like to tell people what colors to wear because they are your pictures and you are allowed to wear whatever colors your heart desires. However, I do like to explain the the colors you wear have the biggest impact on the overall final product. I think this makes or breaks the final gallery. Colors reflect onto your skin and affect so much about the image. So my suggestion is to pick something neutral, and IF you want to incorporate colors, choose something with accent colors that compliment and pair nicely with the neutrals.

Practicality
Your range of motion is so important for photoshoots! I want women especially to keep this in mind. If you want photos where you are being picked up/lifted you can't have a dress that is too short. If you want pictures on the ground (maybe in a straddle position with your s/o) you don't want your jeans skin tight. If your top is constantly falling off your shoulders throughout the shoot, we may have a bra strap make it in a few shots. Think about how your outfit could potentially limit posing/prompt options during shooting!
